A Closer Look: Arrowhead Country Club

Arrowhead Country Club enjoys an ideal location and scenery

A 4.5-star course, Arrowhead is one of Myrtle Beach’s quiet stars, delivering the type of experience and value that make the Grand Strand so popular. With that in mind, here is what you need to know about Arrowhead as you contemplate a late spring, summer or even fall Myrtle Beach golf vacation.

Can’t Beat the Views
Arrowhead is one of six Myrtle Beach golf courses that plays along the Intracoastal Waterway, providing the layout’s most dramatic visuals. The Cypress and Waterway nines feature holes along the water. The course’s signature hole is the fifth on the Waterway 9, which plays along the Intracoastal from tee to green. It’s a beautiful hole – just don’t hook the ball!

Waterway, Lakes or Cypress, it Doesn’t Matter
The Waterway and Cypress nines attract attention (and photographers) because of the Waterway holes, but the Lakes nine is at least their equal. What helps make Arrowhead so appealing is the quality of all three nines. You don’t have to play a particular one to enjoy the course. No matter the combination, Arrowhead will deliver 18 holes of outstanding golf.

The Key to Success is Straight Ahead
Arrowhead isn’t excessively tight off the tee, but you aren’t blasting the ball into a runway-wide fairway either. None of Arrowhead’s three nines play longer than 3,349 yard from the tips, so the course won’t overwhelm you with length, a fact that underscores the importance of hitting fairways. Players that find the short grass off the tee typically score well, so chose wisely and hit the ball straight.

Location & Major Pedigree
Arrowhead is one of the most conveniently located Myrtle Beach golf courses. The layout is just west of the Intracoastal Waterway in Myrtle Beach and only 10 minutes from the airport, making it perfect for a pre or post flight round. Just off 501, Arrowhead almost hides in plain sight, but take the time to find this gem, which was designed by three-time major champion Raymond Floyd.

Perfect Package?
There are lot of different golf packages that feature Arrowhead, but if you are looking for a deal this autumn, the Fall Elite package is worth a look. The offer, which includes four rounds of golf and starts at $243, showcases a quartet of 4+ star courses. In addition to Arrowhead, the package allows your group to play Tidewater, Thistle and Prestwick, all outstanding courses in their own right. This one is a winner.
