Myrtle Beach International Airport’s rapidly expanding roster of nonstop flights continued its growth with Allegiant Airlines’ decision to begin providing direct service from Kansas City to the Golf Capital of the World.
The twice weekly flights will start June 8 and fly on Fridays and Mondays, ideal for a quick golf getaway.
Allegiant Airlines, which targets leisure travelers, services Myrtle Beach from 20 destinations.
The announcement of service to Kansas City continues a trend as airlines realize Myrtle Beach’s appeal to land-locked residents of the Midwest, providing golfers in otherwise underserved markets easy access to the game’s most popular destination.
This year alone, the Grand Strand has added nonstop flights from Nashville, Kansas City, Louisville, Minnesota and Denver. Myrtle Beach International Airport now offers direct service from 48 destinations, nearly twice the number available at any other South Carolina airport, and enjoys the Palmetto State’s lowest average fares.
