Myrtle Beach Golf Courses:  Seven Myrtle Beach Golf Courses Ranked Among South Carolina’s Top 10

Golf Magazine has release its biennial list of the best public courses in each state and, as expected, Grand Strand layouts feature prominently in the rankings for North and South Carolina.

Myrtle Beach golf courses dominated Golf Magazine’s list of the Palmetto State’s best layouts, occupying seven of the top 10 spots and 13 of 20 overall. A couple familiar names led the charge as Caledonia was No. 3 in South Carolina and the Dunes Club was No. 4. Both courses are currently ranked among America’s 100 best public courses by Golf Magazine.

Rounding out the area courses that earned a spot in the top 10 were the Love Course at Barefoot Resort (No. 6), Tidewater (No. 7), True Blue (No. 8), Fazio Course (No. 9) and TPC Myrtle Beach (No. 10).

The Heathland Course at Legends Resort (No. 13), Grande Dunes (No. 14), Dye Course (No. 15,) Heritage (No. 17), King’s North (No. 19) and Pawleys Plantation (No. 20) rounded out the Myrtle Beach golf courses that were ranked among the top 20.

Grand Strand layouts were also well represented on the list of North Carolina’s best with a pair of courses at Ocean Ridge Plantation cracking the top 10. Leopard’s Chase was ranked No. 8 and Tiger’s Eye was 10th in the golf rich Tar Heel state.

Rivers Edge (No. 12) and Oyster Bay (No. 15) also earned spots in the top 20.

“Golf Magazine’s rankings are further affirmation of the quality and depth of the area’s offerings,” said Bill Golden, Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday president. “The Carolinas are home to some of the nation’s best public courses and that is certainly true for the Myrtle Beach area.”

Golf Magazine released its best in state rankings as a run up to the unveiling of its new list of the Top 100 Courses You Can Play beginning on July 30.
