September 13, 2017

Nextgengolf, the industry’s leading organizer of events and tournaments for golfers in their 20’s and 30’s, is bringing their City Tour Championship to True Blue and Caledonia this weekend.

The two-day team tournament features 120 golfers from 18 different cities in the United States. The format of the tournament features best ball and scramble divisions with rounds each day being played at Caledonia and True Blue.

The City Tour Championship is the culminating tournament for Nextgengolf’s City Tour – a nationwide golf tour for golfers in their 20’s and 30’s. The team-based golf tournaments are held near 18 different major U.S. cities, including Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas and the Bay Area.

To qualify for the City Tour Championship, teams competed in qualifiers in their local cities.

Along with bragging rights and being named City Tour Champions, the winning teams from each division receive gift cards from Nextgengolf sponsors, a championship trophy and individual glassware and a championship pin flag. All participants receive five meals, including a welcome party Friday night with an open bar, $2,500 in raffles and a special appearance from PGA Tour player Harold Varner III.

Additionally, each day includes an optional skins game and longest drive and closest to the pin contests.

Nextgengolf, a national partner with Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday, is scheduled to hold future tournaments in Myrtle Beach, including the 2018 Spring Break open in March for college students and club golf teams.
