Here is Your Best Chance to Make Birdie at International Club

August 21, 2017

International club's 12th hole offers a shot at birdie The 4-star course, located less than two miles from TPC Myrtle Beach, flies under the radar amongst a group of heralded South Strand layouts, but delivers an experience golf groups appreciate.

With more than 350 palm trees on the property, International Club delivers the coastal ambiance people relish in a beach golf trip, but it’s the layout and conditioning that keeps players coming back.

From the tips, the course isn’t overly long at 6,857 yards but the white tees (6,367 yards) offer more than enough challenge.

International Club isn’t exceptionally tight off the tee, but staying out of the tree line is vital to success. The greens are consistently among the area’s fastest and will deliver a smooth, true roll.

The front nine, which plays more than 130 yards shorter than the back, offers the opportunity to get off to a good start. Scoring is typically more difficult on the back, but our Myrtle Beach golf hole of the week presents an excellent shot at birdie.

No. 12 – International Club
Par: 5
Yardage: 487 yards (black tees), 454 yards (white tees), 452 yards (yellow tees), 394 yards (red tees), 332 yards (blue tees)
Handicap: 15

Players will have a 150-yard carry over water playing from the white tees, but the 12th offers an excellent shot at birdie. The hole is just 454 yards from the white tees, so a good drive will present the opportunity to reach the green in two and have a possible eagle putt.

The water can be visually intimidating but shouldn’t be a problem. The biggest impediment to your dreams of making birdie are the four bunkers that flank the fairway and the two that guard the kidney-shaped green.

Players that get off the tee and avoid those bunkers will have an excellent shot at making par or better.
