Local’s Corner: Famous Toastery is a Great Addition to a Myrtle Beach Golf Menu

October 21, 2016

Famous Toastery Myrtle Beach SCFamous Toastery, a North Carolina-based chain that serves breakfast and lunch, opened to rave reviews in early September. Based in Carolina Forest, which puts it within minutes of 15 golf courses, including Legends, Myrtle Beach National, Wizard and Man O’War, Famous Toastery touts its fresh-made meals and a fun atmosphere.

What you really need to know about the Toastery is this: the food is great and the service is outstanding, making it a prime location for a pre-golf breakfast.

The benedicts are delicious, with the Cali Benny, featuring avocado, tomato and hollandaise, leading the way. If you want to order breakfast to go on the way to the course, the bagel with bacon, egg and cheese is as good as any in town.

The list goes on (strawberry and cream cheese stuffed French toast, anyone?), with the quality of the food being the common denominator.

The lunch offerings are no less appealing, but for me there is a clear favorite – the meatloaf. Whether you get it on sourdough bread with a side of potato salad or served with gravy and homemade mashed potatoes, your palate is the winner.

Located just across from Buffalo Wild Wings, Famous Toastery enjoys a comfortable, modern decor. The dining room is open, but your group won’t sacrifice privacy, leaving plenty of opportunity to banter about the day’s events.

The Verdict: Famous Toaster enjoys a great location and is one of the best new restaurants to open along the Myrtle Beach golf scene this year. Did I forget to mention that the most expensive entrees typically don’t exceed $12, and they serve mimosas and bloody marys? If you are in search of breakfast or lunch, make Famous Toastery part of your next Myrtle Beach golf trip.
