It’s a dream come true for many of Myrtle Beach’s land-locked golf visitors. The Grand Strand is chock full of seafood buffets, but before you spend your hard-earned money and dip your first crab leg into a cup of melted butter, check out one man's list of the area’s five best:

Captain Benjamin's Original Calabash Seafood Buffet is a great stop on a Myrtle Beach golf vacation!Original Benjamin’s Calabash Seafood

Myrtle Beach’s first standout seafood buffet remains its best and largest (170 items). A nautical theme complements excellent food. Located on restaurant row, Benjamin’s serves Calabash style seafood (i.e. fried) along with crab legs, shrimp and a full buffet of Southern cuisine.

Captain George's seafood buffet is located in central Myrtle BeachCaptain George’s Seafood Restaurant

Though it lacks the longevity of the Original Benjamin’s, Captain George’s is unquestionably among the area’s best. In addition to excellent food, Captain George’s offers the added benefit of being located directly across from the PGA TOUR Superstore on 29th Avenue and it has the area’s largest dining room. You will never wait to eat there.

Crabby Mike's Seafood Buffet in Surfside BeachCrabby Mike's

From the lighthouse on the building’s exterior to the Crabmobile – a black van with a giant crab on top – Crabby Mike’s is a good-time buffet. Though Crabby Mike’s doesn’t take itself to seriously, there is no indifference in the kitchen – the food is very good.

Preston's Seafood and Country BuffetPreston’s Seafood & Country Buffet

Located at the entrance to Barefoot Resort, Preston’s offers a buffet that includes everything from crab legs to baby back ribs and prime rib. This is an under-the-radar favorite.

The Giant Crab Seafood Buffet may have a cartoon-ish logo, and a crazy decor, but it all adds to the fun!The Giant Crab Seafood Restaurant

It has a cartoonish sounding name and logo, but don’t overlook the Giant Crab. It has a raw bar, a carving station featuring prime rib, and a hibachi grill, in addition to the obvious seafood favorites, like crab legs, shrimp, scallops and mahi-mahi on its 170-item buffet. Located on Restaurant Row, the Giant Crab offers meal as tasty as its décor is outlandish.
