Top 5 Things You Never Thought of Doing on a Myrtle Beach Golf Trip

Ziplining is one of many alternative off the course in Myrtle Beach

There are aspects of Myrtle Beach’s nocturnal activities that everyone is aware, Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing come immediately to mind, but we want to provide you a list of places to go and things to do that you may not be aware of.

1. If you’ve got a couple adrenaline junkies in your group, head downtown to the site of the former Pavilion and do a little ziplining. Myrtle Beach Zipline Adventures takes riders 600 feet at speeds of up to 40 MPH and completes the adventure with a stomach-churning free-fall from a 60-foot tall tower. Throw in six side-by-side racing ziplines and you have the recipe for a lot of fun.

2. Generally speaking, golfers like to gamble. While we don’t have a casino in Myrtle Beach, we do have gambling boats that set sail out of Little River Marina every day. The cruise offers card games of all types, roulette, craps and even a sports book. The boat sails from 7:00 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. every night.

3. Myrtle Beach is a coastal destination and being on the water is part of the appeal. If gambling isn’t your thing, consider the Barefoot Princess Riverboat, the area’s only tour and dinner cruise. The Barefoot Princess offers a two-hour tour of the Intracoastal that includes dinner, fireworks, dancing and drinks.

4. If you can’t settle your bets on some of the best golf courses in America, take it to Hawaiian Rumble, the home of US ProMiniGolf Association. Hawaiian Rumble hosts the U.S. Open of mini golf, and it’s certainly a good place to break any ties.

5. If the only thing you are looking for is a good meal, I’d recommend the area’s best kept secret: Sun City Café. The entrée menu is small – tacos and burritos – but everything is made fresh and the mashed potato-based filling is outstanding (trust me!). Every meal comes with chips and homemade salsa, but spend the money for the guacamole. Sun City is small and it’s not a quick meal because everything is homemade, but it’s well worth a trip.
