Two Texans Lead Diverse Group of Winners at Inaugural March Championship

March ChampionshipThe event featured six flights and golfers were grouped based on age and handicap. The flight winners reflected the diversity of the tournament field as five different states were represented.

William Murnin, Jr., (3-under par) of Murrells Inlet, S.C., coasted to a nine-stroke in Flight 1.

Ronald Cotton (11-over par) made the trip from Granbury, Tx., to compete in the event and earned a two-stroke triumph in Flight Two. Sag Harbor, N.Y.’s Scott Smith (16-over par) won a scorecard tiebreaker against Phillip Bradford and Wayne Rhodes to emerge victorious in Flight Three

Bill Snider (5-over par) of Leland, N.C., won Flight 4 by one stroke while Elvin Davis, Jr., (5-over par) of West Bloomfield, Mi., prevailed by two strokes in Flight 5. Kurt Smith (3-under par) from Aledo, Texas won Flight 6 by two shots.
