Video: Get the First Look at Myrtle Beach Golf Courses Reopening After Hurricane Matthew

October 13, 2016

Hurricane Matthew is in the rearview mirror and, thankfully, so is much of the cleanup. The storm bruised the area last weekend, bringing high winds and rain. But after the televisions cameras left, the staff at your favorite Myrtle Beach golf courses, went to work with spectacular results.

By Wednesday morning 50 area Myrtle Beach Golf courses had reopened. By Friday golfers will be riding the fairways at nearly every Myrtle Beach golf course on what is forecast to be an idyllic weekend.

“By this weekend the courses will almost look like a storm never came through, other than some debris on the outer edge of the golf course we won’t have time to clear,” said Matt Biddington, head pro at Legends Resort. “From tee to green, the courses will be in great shape.”

If you are planning a fall golf trip, know that the impact of Hurricane Matthew will have passed by the time you arrive and your next Myrtle Beach golf trip will be as good as it has ever been, even if you arrived 48 hours after the storm!

Eddie from Jenson Beach, Florida, hanging out at Man O’War Golf Club two days after Hurricane Matthew; glad to be here and thanks for having us. Jeff from Florida, New York. This is our 26th trip to Myrtle Beach and we survived Matthew and we are out playing. Thanks a lot and be well.
