Long Bay Resort: Perfect Location, Plentiful Choices

February 3, 2012

Long Bay Resort is located in the heart of Myrtle BeachLong Bay Resort offers luxurious oceanfront accommodations in Myrtle Beach proper, providing a nice combination of relaxation and activity within close proximity.

With its own restaurants and other amenities on-site, including a large indoor/outdoor pool deck that's open year-round, it's possible to have a great time without ever leaving the resort. But with so much occurring only a few blocks away, you will want to explore the area on your Myrtle Beach golf trip.

Here's a list of fun things to do and see in the neighborhood:

* Golf: Long Bay Resort is close to some of the best Myrtle Beach golf courses – including Pines Lakes Country Club and The Dunes Golf & Beach Club, the first two courses built on the Grand Strand. Myrtlewood Golf Club – home of Pine Hills and Palmetto courses – are only a well struck 5-iron away.

* Dining: Jimmy Buffett's famous song “Cheeseburger in Paradise” really does exist and it's within walking distance of Long Bay; and with River City Cafe next door, two of the best burgers on the beach are only steps away. Other nearby dining options include Liberty Tap Room, Collector's Cafe, Outback and Carrabba's.

* Entertainment: The old Dixie Stampede, now known as Pirates Voyage, has quickly become one of the area's most popular dinner shows. The stage is a ship surrounded by water with actors using rope swings and holding sword fights on deck. If you don't mind a 5- to 10-minute drive, Broadway at the Beach and the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk are the hot spots in town.

* Bars: There are plenty of places to enjoy a cocktail without having to worry about a ride home. Several beachfront bars, such as Mango's, the Banana Boat and St. Clement's are open seasonally. For those who prefer the indoors, For What It's Worth is a nice neighborhood bar that features live music and is a popular hangout for locals and visitors.
