Inlet Sports Lodge Feels Like Home

May 22, 2013

Inlet Sports Lodge is a Myrtle Beach golf favoriteStrolling into the courtyard, a gas grill, giant cooler and granite-topped bar are as inviting as the stunning views of Murrells Inlet available on the roof of the Inlet Sports Lodge.

The newest accommodations property on the Myrtle Beach golf scene, Inlet Sports Lodge has carved out a unique place in the market. It was built with the idea that it would feel like a retreat for friends and family, as opposed to the towering hotels that dot the coastline.

Located just across the street from Murrells Inlet – you could put a ball in the water with a pitching wedge – Inlet Sports Lodge is a 30-unit property that feels like home.

The intimacy of the lodge starts with the courtyard, which resembles a backyard barbeque (in an extraordinarily nice house, of course). Guests have full access to the courtyard’s amenities, which include a wine refrigerator, fire pit, flat screen televisions and a walk-in refrigerator.

“It really becomes a place people make their own,” said Michelle Sutton, director of marketing at Inlet Sports Lodge. “When groups come they love going out to the courtyard and getting the grills (gas and/or charcoal) fired up and filling up the beer tubs. They make it their own little retreat.”

The rooms are equally appealing. The Lodge is a premier boutique resort and each room has luxury appointments, a full kitchen and a downstairs storage unit that is perfect for golf clubs. Toss in the complimentary breakfast and the resort’s prime location on the South Strand, and it’s easy to see why Inlet Sports Lodge has become a Myrtle Beach golf vacation favorite since its October 30, 2010 opening.

There is more to the Lodge’s appeal than what’s onsite. Murrells Inlet is one of the Grand Strand’s most scenic locales, offering stunning views of the water, great restaurants and a good time, and Inlet Sports Lodge puts you in the middle of the fun.

The views of Murrells Inlet are stunningHere is a look at what surrounds the Lodge:

Golf: The property is an easy drive to some of the best Myrtle Beach golf courses, including Caledonia, True Blue, TPC Myrtle Beach, Heritage and Willbrook Plantation, among others.

Dining: Bliss is Inlet Sports Lodge’s onsite restaurant and it’s outstanding, but Murrells Inlet is the Seafood Capital of South Carolina so quality options abound. Drunken Jacks, Bovine’s, Divine Fish House and Lee’s Inlet Kitchen, among others, are worth a try.

Attractions: Brookgreen Gardens is right around the corner, the Marshwalk is a beautiful place for a stroll, and fishing is always an option.

Nightlife: The nightlife in Murrells Inlet is understated but no less enjoyable than that of Myrtle Beach. Wahoo’s, Hot Fish Club and Dead Dog Saloon are great venues to enjoy a couple drinks and take in some live music.

The Verdict: Inlet Sports Lodge is among the area’s best accommodations properties, particularly if your Myrtle Beach golf trip takes you to the South Strand. The rooms are great, the location is superb, and it has a homey vibe that keeps people coming back.
