Local Knowledge: 5 Beach Bars You Need to Visit on Your Next Golf Trip

October 20, 2017

Ocean Annie's is one of the area's best beach barsThe options are boundless but you are on a beach golf trip, so why not enjoy a post-round drink overlooking the pounding surf of the Atlantic Ocean?

There are no shortage of beach bars along the Grand Strand, and we’ve hoisted a frosty mug in nearly all of them. Based on years of “research” here is our list of the top 5 oceanfront bars along the Myrtle Beach golf scene.

The area’s newest beach bar – RipTydz – is among its best. The oceanfront grille serves fresh seafood and prime steaks while the rooftop bar delivers stunning views and nightly live entertainment. Located on 12th Avenue North in the heart of Myrtle Beach, Riptydz is worth a visit.

If you are looking for an elevated view of the water, Second Avenue Pier is the place to go. The open-air bar features a panoramic view of the ocean and couches to sit on. If the mood strikes you, a walk out on the pier to fish is also a possibility. What is there not to like?

While RipTydz and Second Avenue Pier are newer establishments, Bummz has long been a beachfront favorite. Tucked away on 20th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach, it’s a single-story establishment with solid food, a spectacular view, and a good-times reputation. Live entertainment is also a staple.

Most of our spotlighted bars are stand-alone businesses, but no list of beach bars is complete without Ocean Annie’s. Located at Sands Resort, Ocean Annie’s has live music every weekend and is an oceanfront institution. If someone created a bucket list of Myrtle Beach bars, Ocean Annie’s would make the cut.

Is there anything better than an Irish Bar on the beach? I didn’t think so. Molly Darcy’s in North Myrtle Beach is a must-visit if you are staying along the North Strand. It’s authentic, fun and the view from the patio can’t be beat.

There were numerous other establishments that could’ve made this list, including, but certainly not limited to, Landshark Bar & Grill, Coconuts and 8th Avenue Tiki Bar, so feel free to let us know what your favorite Grand Strand beach bar is.
