Paige Spiranac Plays Prestwick

On a recent visit to the Grand Strand, Myrtle Beach golf ambassador Paige Spiranac took on Prestwick Country Club, a course with a look, feel and designer (Pete Dye) common to another course she’s played out west. Check out the video to learn about her experience!

It’s funny because we actually have a course in Arizona that looks really similar to Prestwick (Karsten Golf Course at Arizona State University), and they have kind of the same format. So it was funny going to Prestwick and seeing Holes 9 and 18 where they have water up the left side for 9 and then up the right side for 18. I was like, “Oh, I’ve got this!”

But it was very intimidating. I did a little YouTube video while I was out there on how to tackle a scary golf hole. And I thought those two holes were perfect because although they were beautiful, they are very challenging as well.

And Prestwick had super greens, the ball was actually rolling really well, really true on the green which was nice. They were fast and holding by like one inch. You know you can spin the ball in those conditions, and it was my ideal conditions.

I tend to miss left. That’s my miss, so I think I like 18 better because I knew if I did have my typical draw hook that I would still be okay!
